My 6yo girl was touching her head yesterday saying she had a headache, she said she was sore so I took a look behind her ear and there’s a big lump behind her ear. It’s solid as bone (definitely not a spot), tinged red/blue and sore to touch. I would say it’s a lymph node but do they go red and sore like this?? She’s not at all ill and in every other way great, temps fine. I’ve checked her head etc for cuts or bites but nothing.
I’m calling my GP first thing tmro but has anyone had anything similar?
I did a brief google but as always it’s starts throwing horrifying things at you so asking for life stories for some reassurance?!
She’s not had any recent infections and is super healthy.
I’ll be honest when I found it by blood went cold and I do feel quite sick so anything would be great right now.

Lymph nodes aren't as hard as bone. A painful lump that is really as solid as bone would make me worry about mastoiditis. www.nhs.uk/conditions/mastoiditis/

There are lymph nodes just behind the ear. Could an ear infection be starting?
Get it checked if you can
