Vomiting bug after 3 weeks of lockdown?

My 6 year old has started being sick this morning, it's happening every 10 minutes or so. No fever or diarrhoea so far. Could this be a sickness bug even though he hasn't been anywhere except for walks in the countryside for the last 3 weeks- no contact at all with anyone outside our household?

I would say it's pretty unlikely to be a bug if he hasn't been anywhere for weeks, and no on else in the house has been ill. A very slim chance that there could have been germs on food packaging or unwashed fruit or something, but it's pretty unlikely.

Could it be food poisoning, or even too much chocolate yesterday?

Keep an eye out for other symptoms (ear, stomach or throat pain or a high temperature) which could point at an infection, not necessarily a contagious one - some ear/throat infections are bacterial rather than viral. Bad stomach pain could be appendicitis...

Hope he's feeling better soon!

Keep an eye out for worrying signs like appendicitis but yes he could have a stomach bug if he failed to wash his hands properly after using the loo

Thank you both. I did wonder about food poisoning but he has eaten the same things as my 3 year old who is fine. I will keep a close eye out for other symptoms.
