Calpol for Hayfever in a pinch?

My 19 month old has been sneezing today. He suffered with hayfever last spring/summer when he was 9 months old and we had to get a prescription for Piriton.

I had it on my list to get hold of some more for this year but the sudden nice weather (and lockdown!) caught us off guard. I don’t have any Piriton in and DH can’t see any in Tesco and the pharmacy is closed.

Would calpol do for tonight until we can hunt for some tomorrow, or would there be no benefit at all?

Calpol won't do anything though if it's an allergy not a cold.
Was there no tesco own antihistamine?

That’s what I was thinking tbh.

No they had nothing in liquid form. It’s only a small Tesco, they don’t have a lot of variety on a good day.

Nope, Calpol is just paracetamol. You would't take it for allergies or hayfever.

If it's just a bit of sneezing and not bothering him too much I don't really think it needs treating. If it's bothering him, there are things that can help - washing hands and face frequently, reducing time outside, drying washing indoors. If you have any vaseline you can rub a tiny bit inside his nostrils as it can help stop the pollen irritating his nose.
