Non- urgent surgery- hernia

My daughters surgery is scheduled for the 7th April.

It has not yet been cancelled.

It is a hernia day surgery under local anaesthetic.

I was planning on saying she had a cough and self isolating to delay it until another time. She is 6 and it only bothers her now and then.

But tonight it was really big, it's a groin hernia and I took her round the street on her bike for our 30 minutes out.

She wasn't upset until I said in the bath 'oh your hernia's big today, are you ok?'

Then she cried for an hour in pain. I don't know whether to take her for her surgery next week or not?

She calmed down after a cuddle and YouTube. When she fell asleep it had shrunk to nothing and I gave it a bit of a gentle push in that area, no noise from my sleeping daughter

What would you do?

Any health care professionals know what the paediatric wards are like? Are they very quiet at the moment?
