So DD 7 had textbook scarlet fever 11 days ago. Thought it was covid but then tongue/rash/throat etc it became obvious. We managed to get her antibiotics over the phone 4 days in and she picked up after a couple of days.
She woke up this morning complaining of a sore throat, headache, aching legs. Went to bed early with a slight temp, around 37. Been off all day. Not majorly as she was with scarlet fever just a bit bleh,
So does anyone know if scarlet fever can return after antibiotics? She didn't take the full course as it was a nightmare trying to get them into her plus separated parents mean we don't always keep track. Probably finished a day early.
Obviously we will self isolate but has anyone's child had scarlet fever return after finishing antibiotics? Or should we assume it's covid? Although she's not been anywhere since the last day of school when she went down with it...
