Hi. My baby boy is 3 months old. At 5 weeks he had a UTI and a hospital stay of a week on strong antibiotics. He had a follow up ultrasound which showed dilated urethras bilaterally. He then had a further test where they put a catheter in and inject dye into his kidneys and this showed no blockage or reflux and consultant said it was good news. However he had a follow up ultrasound yesterday which showed the dilation has got worse and he’s developed another UTI. We are being referred to a specialist but I’ve no idea on time scale and I’m getting worried and paranoid.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I’ve read that they can grow out of it but I’m concerned as his has got worse. A doctor yesterday mentioned surgery so I’m going stir crazy with panic.
