Does anyone have this thermometer?

Hi

We have never needed to use our digital thermometer as our children have thankfully not been ill much. However, in current circumstances we have dug it out and put a new battery in. But every reading it gives is around the 34/35 degrees mark. Making us hypothermic apparently

Does anyone know how to use it correctly please? Can’t find our instructions or any online. It’s the Mothercare digital ear thermometer. Picture attached.

does it need the plastic covers to go over the probe.

We have a mothercare one, not same it does need covers on it. Ours also reads cold, it’s basically useless. Sorry can’t help more!

I’ve had a look. Not sure which ones to get though as they all seem to be specific to a brand
