Normal or take her to the dentist

So, my just turned 8 DD has a wobbly tooth, upper left next to middle on photo (the one on right is new one coming in). It's been wobbly for a good 4 months now. I took her to the dentist about 2 weeks ago as it was starting to discolour near the gum line (I was worried having been told as a kid if the milk tooth goes rotten the next one would come through rotten too). I was told it was all fine and if it was still there in may when she has her check they can remove it.
Well, the gum is now growing over the tooth. I managed to get a picture last week, she doesn't like letting me see it, but it's getting worse (red line indicating original gum line) . The tooth will be fully covered in another week or so at this rate.
Having been made to feel I was wasting time before, do you think this is normal before I take her to the dentist again.
Sorry for long post
