Hi, My son is 2 1/2 years old. On Monday there was a sign up at his nursery that said there was one child off sick with chickenpox. I've been looking on his body every day since then for spots and nothing has came out as of yet. I'm a bit concerned because I have a younger son who is four months old. Anyway today my 2 1/2-year-old has woke up with a really runny nose and bad cold. I'm just wondering could this be the start Of chickenpox? Not really sure what to think and should I be worried about my four month old?

Yes it can be, my ds had a cold about 2 days before spots appeared and he was also 2 1/2 when he caught them.

Dd has just got over chicken pox, she had a high temp of 40 for 3 days before. The spots appeared last Monday evening, woke up Tuesday she was covered, woke up weds there were more. The last ones have only just blistered over yesterday and she’s going back to school tomorrow. She had a runny nose part way through but not a full on cold
