Never-ending virus...anyone else?

Ds has been off school since last Thurs. Earache, headache, hacking cough, temperature, pale, no energy.
Dr says it's 'just a virus'.
I felt he'd made an improvement yesterday and then he's woken this morning with a temperature of 38, saying his head hurts.
He has complex needs so I know things often hit him hard, but this just seems to be going on and on.
Has anyone had anything similar?

Oh snap !
Ive seen so many different drs in the space of 10 days, one said tonsillitis, one said scarlet fever and one said virus. I have no idea what it is but its lingering on ( high temp, headache and sleepy all the time)
I hope your little one starts feeling better soon xx

My ds has had exactly the same thing. Started with headache two Fridays ago, was ok in himself and wanted to go to school, no temperature so had calpol for his headache. Staff said he was fine. At home time, he came out white as a sheet, very lerthargic and burnt up. Went to bed at 6pm which isnt like him. OK by Sunday so back to school this week. He came home early in Thursday, with exactly the same thing, but earache and a cough also. Felt better yesterday but tonight he's looking pale, complained of headache and feeling cold, although he feels warm to touch. Went to bed at 7pm Confused so I'll see how he feels tomorrow. Hope your ds feels better soon.

Have posted loads about my ds. Nearly 6 weeks ago he came down with tonsillitis and he’s been up and down since.
Infection is clear but throat is still a bit swollen. Have been in to the drs so often now. Assuming it’s glandular fever but it hasn’t shown up in the blood tests.
I’ve been really worried but his symptoms are the same , slight cold, headaches sometimes and just generally unwell. He’s just off so much but on the days he has gone in I’ve had to pick him up early. I’m just worried at how long it’s going on without any improvement although his energy fluctuates. No answers here but just hoping it passes soon.
