Poorly baby, please help

My 10mo old baby is poorly for the first time, I assume gastroinitus (sp). He is very sleepy and vomiting. I'm not sure of his temp as of course I've lost the thermometer, but someone is bringing one to us soon. He is breastfeeding well, but very sleepy which is concerning me.

I don't know if this is normal first time mum panic but I am questioning everything so if anyone could help:
Should I encourage sleeping as much as possible today?
If he is awake at meal times should I offer solids, or stick to milk?
Any advice to catch his vomit, or is it a case of keep changing his/my clothes all day?
Is going for a walk in the pram for fresh air a good idea, or stay in for cuddles?

Does he feel hot to the touch?

Is he irritable when awake?

Are his nappies wet? Dry nappies is sign of dehydration

How long has he been poorly?

Any sign of rash on body?

Also trust your gut instinct. If worried call Gp or 111 for advice.

put your wrist on the back of his neck - does it feel burning hot, just warm, or cool? if burning hot then yes he has a fever. if so then give calpol.

have you muslin squares? cut a small hole in the middle of one and pop it over his head poncho style to protect from vomit, and drape muslins over yourself in the line of fire as much as possible but yes you will change clothes often.

plenty of liquids. water as well as milk. make little bits of solid foods available but don't make him eat. banana and rice are best foods for a poorly digestion.

Got the thermometer, his temp was 38 but it's come down with Calpol and is looking a bit brighter. good idea about the muslin, thank you.
