10 Year Old Dark Urine

My son has just passed urine came through to ask me to have a look as he was alarmed by the strange dark colour. He has been complaining of a sore hip this afternoon (I had assumed this was a growing pain). Does anyone have any experience of this? He has been drinking water solidly today. Thank you.

I would call 111 and see what they advise. The fact his urine is so concentrated after drinking a lot would concern me.

Have you spoke to your GP today? If not any pain while passing urine or where is his hip pain?

Torvean · 26/02/2020 02:53

Has he drank enough today? If he's been physically active, and been sweating then he needs to drink more.

Personally one episode of dark urine isn't too worrying. If it carrys on then contact your GP

Sorry just saw he drank a lot. Was it dark fluids like fizzy juice or like blackcurrant type juice.

I’d take him straight to hospital. Could be sign of serious kidney issues.

Or appendices.

Obviously call 111.
