Son’s medical circumcision

Please help.
My son had a circumcision for medical reasons yesterday morning. He has only urinated twice since then. When should I be concerned?
Thank you in advance.

Twice in over 24 hours? needs to see a Dr.

How has his fluid intake been?

nocoolnamesleft · 19/02/2020 22:41

I'd suggest speaking to the ward where he had it done.

Pop him in a warm bath with salt and give him a lot of fluids, see if that helps. It might sting a bit when he sits, but that will soon go and hopefully he'll be able to let go. I'd also be phoning the hospital while you're doing this. How much has he drank today?

Did they not advise when they discharged him? Bit lacking!

I would call 111 straight away (presuming you are in the UK)

Thank you all for your replies. There has been a distinct lack of after care from the hospital. I’ve been to the GP this morning and sent to see the urologist. He suggested before we traveled to have a warm bath (as stated above) luckily he managed a wee.
Advise is to now keep doing what we’re doing and give regular pain medication. I’m hoping we’re on top of it all bow pain wise.
I will be contacting PALS regarding our care as I feel it was majorly below par.
Thanks again xx

Glad it helped, yeah you've got to keep on top of the pain meds, even wake him in the night to make sure it never dips. Hope he's better soon, the first 5 days were the worst for DS but then he bounced back.
