Lump in DD 10 Neck. So worried.

Hi everyone

Would appreciate some advice or support please. A few days ago I noticed a small lump in my daughter's neck area. Its half way down her neck and in line with her ear. The lump moves around when touched but it doesn't appear to be causing her any pain or discomfort.

After trying in vain to see our usual GP, I gave up and took her to a walk in centre today. The doctor who looked at it appeared baffled and said she didn't know what it was. She said the best thing would be to get seen by our regular GP as soon as possible and he could refer us if there was a need.

I went straight to my GPs afterwards and have managed to get an appointment for 9.30 tomorrow morning. I am beside myself with worry and don't know how I will get through the night. I'm trying to put a brave face on for my DD but she can tell I'm really worried and she's feeling anxious now as well.

Are there any GPs on here who can reassure me? Or anyone else who has experienced this? Anything would help.

You would've had a call by now if it was anything serious x

Two of my kids have these. Most likely lymph nodes and the fact that they move is a good thing.

Did you ring op?

My 2 year old DS regularly gets lymph nodes. When he was a few months old one of them swelled up to the size of an egg on his neck and I of course panicked and took him to hospital. I was told they are very common.
