How long after tonsillectomy did your dc eat?

DC had tonsils and adenoids out last week. Today is day 8 and she's still struggling to eat managing only small bits of yoghurt, a few bites of fish fingers a few pieces of pasta.

She's crying as it hurts, looks pale and 'eyey' and is also constipated from meds and not eating/drinking enough.

Please tell me that your DC went throu this and how long until they ate properly?

She's also not sleeping so I'm exhausted and feeling a bit hysterical Confused

It always gets worse before it gets better. Are you still giving painkillers regularly? Even if she eats little and often it’s ok. Buy what she likes and let her pick. Keep plugging on with the medicine and the drinking. She may well be constipated from not drinking as much. Have you tried ice lollies?

My child had his out on Tuesday this week and still hasn't eaten anything. He's still really poorly. He's managing to sip orange squash but won't even take his meds (turns out he's allergic to the morphine too which is a nightmare)

It's definitely not an easy op for him
