Dd(4) has been a bit under the weather for the last week with a cough and cold. Two days ago she woke up with a lump directly under her chin. She says it hurts to touch. It's not red or hot. Is it swollen lymph nodes or glands? It's in an odd place so am not sure. Should I take her to the GP?

Errrrr yes. If you don't know what it is take her to the GP and find out. You never know and better to be safe than sorry.

It's a lymph node. They often raise around the jaw line when you have cold/sore throat. They are sore to touch. I had an infection in my wisdom tooth and the node in my jaw swelled like a golf ball.

Once shes better it will go down. The advice is if it doesnt go in 3 weeks once better to get it checked

Thank you that's reassuring
