Finger infection

My 3 year old had a finger infection a few weeks ago. It was a pus filled blister on the top of his finger and redness half way down his finger. Our GP took out the pus and DS had antibiotics for a week. The blister has cleared up and there is no pain . However the finger is still red ( not swollen). It has been a week since he finished the antibiotics and the redness is still there. He can move finger as normal etc. I am not sure if the redness will just go away in time or if I should take him back to the GP. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you

I’d take him back to the GP and get it checked out to be on the safe side.

My DD had something similar, even after oral antibiotics the redness was still there and it was quite shiny.
I checked with the pharmacist and was told to go back to the GP, we were then given an antibiotic cream specifically for skin infections which cleared it within a week
