Hi there, has anyone any experience in ortodontist. im wondering if he is too young and if i should wait until he is a bit older.
my sons teeth need looking at and the ortodontist is recommending a couple of spacers in the back and two extractions to make rooms for teeth trying to come down. i just dont know whether to wait!
Thanks in advance

If you're not confident with your orthodontist's recommendation then you should get a second opinion. No one on the internet can assess whether it's the right thing for your son!

I was asking if anyone had had treatment or experience at age 8 or to wait until more teeth came in. But thank you for your post

My 10yo DS's mouth is very crowded with adult teeth overlapping and stuck halfway coming in. We saw the dentist a few weeks ago and they said he would definitely need referring, but that the orthodontist wouldn't see him until all his baby teeth have fallen out (he still has 2 at the back). Has your dentist told you your DS will need a referral, or are you guessing? It's not unusual for adult teeth to come in at funny angles and then settle by themselves with a little time.
