Son with enlarged tonsil

Hi
I noticed in December that my sons right tonsil looked like it had a small pea sized lump on it so taken to gp, had antibiotics as thought could be tonsillitis anyway it didn’t help so got sent to hospital to see ENT they said could just be asymmetrical tonsil and did blood test to rule out infection came back clear so sent us away on watch and wait. Anyway I checked his throat yesterday and his tonsil is loads bigger ( looks like a small Brussel sprout) and covers most his throat, he can’t eat bread or meat as chokes and wakes all the time through the night needing a drink. I took him to doctors today as worried and he said it’s normal although it has got larger but no sign of infection and he is well in himself and only bring him back if he gets unwell?!! So I’m at a bit of a loss of what to do, I’m worried it will continue getting bigger as in 4/5 weeks it’s doubled in size. Any advice or similar experiences mostly appreciated
Thank you from an overly worried mother

Oh gosh I'd be pushing for a re referral to ENT!

Hi, I rang the ent clinic and explained what was happening and they have got him in today as they had a cancellation which is good. So hopefully I’ll know more today and hopefully put my mind at ease Smile
