My son has bronchiolitis and tonsillitis which led him to be hospitalised after he stopped drinking and eating. Maybe 1oz here or there. He usually has 5 9oz bottles a day so this was an extreme change.
We tried syringing fluids but then came the vomiting. Everything we managed to get in him came up without fail.
He's currently been in hospital since Friday and has had oxygen since admission and had a feeding tube for 24 hours (the little bugger ripped it out) on Saturday because his cough made him vomit blood and all the milk he managed to drink.
Going into night 3 and he has really improved in himself and needs no oxygen while awake so was weaned off of it, but his levels dip in sleep so he keeps needing it to be turned back on!
To top it off only one parent is able to stay now he's been moved from a private room to a bay. I'm exhausted but my partner has never done a proper night shift with baby (let alone a sick baby), so it's really hard to split our time effectively.
How long does bronchiolitis typically last? I tried to research it but I'm still not fully sure what we're in for recovery wise.
Sorry for this exhaustion induced part rant, part cry for help/information
