Juvenile spondyloarthritis

My son - 6 years - has had a limp on and off for some time now. Apart from this and the usual bugs that small children get, I would say he is perfectly healthy. However, his doctor was concerned and sent him to a rheumatolgoist. He is now testing him for early stages of juvenile spondyloarthritis. When I looked up what all this might be, it is terrifying. Does anyone have any experiences of this?
