DS tooth disappeared!

DS was eating a carrot when suddenly he ran in to me shouting, "Mum, my tooth has gone!'. We looked everywhere but can only deduce that he's swallowed it with the carrot! It's only his second tooth to come out and it had been wobbly for a while. Should i be concerned, or should i just wait for it to come out the other end?!! DS is oddly accepting of not having the tooth fairy leave him a gold coin.
Anyone else had this happen?

I can see a pooey job ahead for me unless he goes at school which is highly unlikely Hmm.

It’s very common! You don’t need to hunt for the tooth in the poo. DD1 is 6 and I know of at least 4 of her friends who have swallowed a tooth that they’ve lost.

Elbeagle · 22/01/2020 21:37

But surely the tooth fairy comes anyway?! You just need to write her a note saying sorry he’s swallowed it!

Quartz2208 · 22/01/2020 21:38

Swallowed it is fine

TOoth fairy however will know and if you leave a note money will be left

BertieBotts · 22/01/2020 21:38

Don't go looking for it :) It will be absolutely fine and won't do any harm. Just write a note to the tooth fairy. In fact, get him to write it, because then you can keep it, and it's a much lovelier keepsake and memory than a manky old tooth. DS1 swallowed his first ever tooth! I used to swallow mine as a child due to my habit of waiting until they fell out rather than ever push/wobble them too much in case they hurt. Lost a lot at night and would reflexively swallow. Dentist said absolutely common and harmless.

dementedpixie · 22/01/2020 21:39

He still gets money but you write a note to the tooth fairy explaining why the tooth is missing. I wouldn't bother looking for it, it should pass easily

Bunnybigears · 22/01/2020 21:41

He has swallowed it, dont go looking for it Confused get him to write a note to the tooth fairy and he still gets the coin.

BooseysMom · 22/01/2020 21:54

Ah thanks everyone! So many saying write a note. I hadn't thought of that! I got told off by in-laws for giving £3 in a little pot under his pillow when his first one fell out! I've kept it safe in the pot. It says 'my first tooth'. He thinks the tooth fairy took it away!

DS lost his tooth in a museum Grin We hunted all over the floor for it but it must have rolled away.

Luckily I had the Tooth Fairy's email address and I could let her know where to find it.

eavers · 22/01/2020 22:49

My 3 have all swallowed at least one tooth each. I panicked the first time but there were never any problems. I wrote notes to the tooth fairy!

Marshmello · 22/01/2020 23:01

Eaten.

BooseysMom · 23/01/2020 19:31

TMI ALERT! So tonight DS had a poo and i poked around with a stick but no tooth to be found so we've written a note to the tooth fairy. With an IOU a tooth in a poo!! Grin

Why the fuck would you poke around in poo to look for a tooth.

easythere · 23/01/2020 19:38

That's a bit grim Hmm

doritosdip · 23/01/2020 19:43

Don't bother looking in his poo!

It's really common. Just wrote a letter to the tooth fairy to explain.

I'm one of those fetish people and poo is my thing Grin

No, really, DS insisted on it. We didn't actually touch said poo! This morning the letter had disappeared from under his pillow and a shiny gold coin was in its place so DS happy Smile
