My DS has been given Allerief to help with his itchiness from eczema. The only problem is he’s only 7 months and it says not suitable for children under 1. Is it safe?

It will have been prescribed off licence and gp's can do that if required

I think that allerief is chlorphenamine (same anti histamine as used in piriton). It is safe to give under a year but only on prescription, so it's totally safe for you to use as direcred on the bottle for your 7 month old. Just remember he will only be able to have it twice a day rather than 4 hourly as older children would be able to have. Hope it helps.
