Stomach ache continuing months after illness

My 6yo DD had one day of vomiting and diarrhoea in September. In the week afterwards she was off her food and complained of tummy aches. But after that her liveliness returned so I stopped listening to her complaints about tummy aches. (Mostly first thing in the morning.)
But last night we shared a bed and at 6am she was deeply asleep when she had a sudden stomach cramp which woke her up with a cry of pain. So now I feel guilty about not listening to her.
She's eating well, she's energetic and happy. Should I take her to the doctor? It seems a shame to waste a doctor's time when she doesn't appear to be properly ill, but clearly something must be wrong.

I don’t think this would be a waste of the doctor’s time. You can’t know whether she’s ill and it’s not as though you’re taking her at the drop of a hat.

Some people do struggle to recover from sickness bugs. I’ve heard of GPs recommending taking probiotics to help the gut recover. I’d be unsure about a young child taking tablets but a good portion of live yoghurt every day might be a good start, or perhaps something like Yakult (if it’s suitable for children).

At 5am she was awoken by a stomach cramp so severe she was sick. I phoned 111, got an out of hours appointment.

The doctor was dismissive with overtones of "don't over react". Sent us home "There's a virus going round. Calpol and bed." He said the months of stomach cramps are "just a coincidence."

I had continuous stomach pains and ignored it for months. Turned out it was some bug in my gut - identified after a stool sample. I was given antibiotics as it and I have been fine since. It could be something like that maybe.

Or the start of appendicitis?
