Swelling in groin

I'm trying to see the GP today if not tomorrow for my son (14) he told me this morning that he noticed he had some swelling in his groin last night. It's not massively swollen but nevertheless there is swelling on the left side of his groin. It's swollen on the bottom left of his pubic area. He has check himself and said it all feels normal down there (Don't think it's his testicals. He has some pain if he moves a certain way or by pressing on the swollen area. He hasn't taken paracetamol or anything. He doesn't have a fever and doesn't feel unwell. I'm thinking maybe a inguinal hernia? I'm stressing now and looking to see if anyone has any ideas. I'm waiting for my husband to finish work and if we can't see the GP then maybe out of hours.

Can you push the swelling or lump in? Then maybe it's a hernia. GP is a good idea
