Swollen glands/lymph nodes

Has anyone experienced this in their toddler? My son is 3 and a few weeks ago I noticed a moveable lump on his neck that appeared when he got a cold.
I took him to the doctors today and was told it was a swollen lymph node due to his cold and that’s how they can fight the virus and that it will go down in a few weeks. However it’s still making me very anxious! The doctor said she could feel a few swollen glands on both sides, I think this is why I can’t stop thinking about it!
Just wondered if anyone did have experience of this? The one I found has gone down a little but the fact that she said if it goes bigger again bring him back is freaking me out! 🙈

Did the dr test for mononucleosis?
But yes, think of lymph nodes like they are filters so they can get "full" when fighting a virus/infection etc.
Just keep an eye on him but don't stress yourself out😊

Yes my daughter (2) has the ones behind her ears swell up. It was so scary when I first saw it. She had a rock hard, immovable lump on her skull. I was convinced she had leukaemia or something. A few days after noticing chicken pox popped up. They've gone down now thankfully. I wouldn't worry. It's just a 'wait and see' until they go down. Very very common though

Thank you 😊 I know I’m being a worrier my partner is telling me to stop worrying but easier said than done! Although I’d never heard of the lymph nodes swelling due to viruses before I’ve now read/heard quite a few stories of it!
