Lump on daughters neck

Hi all! A strange one. 2.5 yo dd fell asleep this afternoon at my mums and just so happened that I had to wake her up as we were leaving and her head flopped back enough to reveal a big lump on her neck kind of where glands are. Called 111 who said just see a gp first thing. Any ideas? Will try attach a pic.

Also worth noting she says it doesn't hurt at all and has no other symptoms.

My lo had this went for blood tests many times ..been to docs many times and no answers everything came back as normal xx

My DD got MASSIVE lymph nodes when she had any kind of cold/infection/temp at that age. You could see them from across the room. If it's moveable it could easily be that. Both my kids have always had lumpy necks'

raspberryjo · 05/01/2020 22:06

Yeah I did think probably lymph nodes! Thanks ladies x

itsgettingweird · 06/01/2020 17:25

Was going to say mumps seems to be around.

Hope she's better soon

My dd has this right now since Monday - they think might be viral but have to go back tomorrow if it’s still there which it is....

raspberryjo · 10/01/2020 09:51

It's just scary isn't it when you see a lump. She still has the lump but no symptoms?!

Hi @raspberryjo - how is dd doing?

trashcanjunkie · 18/01/2020 00:07

Yes I was going to say mumps - prepare for it to quadruple in size over the next few days. Ds had it despite imms but was fine afterwards

Kab30 · 18/01/2020 00:13

My lo lumps still there 6 months down the line..nothing to worry about apparently x

raspberryjo · 18/01/2020 10:41

Yes good! She wasn't poorly and it never got bigger and had started to get smaller. Went back to doctors this week, she was happy with it reducing and even said maybe not mumps as she wasn't unwell or in pain might have just been a swollen gland. So hopefully it eventually disappears! X
