Daughter takes frequent deep breaths

My 10 year old daughter for the last two weeks has started taking frequent deep breaths. She has no other symptoms and I’m between breathes normally. Does anyone else have a child who does this?

Could it be a habit?

Have you asked her why she does it at the time she does it?

Can she maybe feel her heart fluttering or pain somewhere?

My 16 year old does this

Medical causes been investigated -GP thinks it's anxiety related funny how she always does it more in cold or damp weather though

She's been doing it for years

Thanks for the replies. I had wondered if it could be a habit but it still worries me. She doesn’t seem to be anxious. I have asked her and she says she feels she needs to get more air. She doesn’t have any pain. Think I will take her to get checked out at the gp just to be on the safe side.
