Silent reflux toddler help!!

Desperate mumma in need of some help 😭

Quick back story LB is now 15 months, cmpa and soya allergy and was on omeprazole for reflux (mainly vomiting) from 3 months. We were told at his last paed review to try and wean him off now his reflux was under control. He was on max dose so over the course of 8 weeks we reduced the dose by 5mg each time and have been off of it completely for 1.5 weeks.

He is currently having the most horrific silent reflux episode waking every 30 mins at night screaming in pain and kicking his cot completely inconsolable. It’s heart breaking 😭. He has a virus of some sort at the moment with intermittent high fevers and also had pineapple for the first time in a long time yesterday, don’t know if either of these are playing a part in what’s happening now.

I just don’t know what to do as there’s no way I’ll be able to contact his paed on Xmas eve and the gp has no idea when it comes to reflux. Do I put him back on omeprazole? If so back to the original dose? Do we wait and see? I feel so upset for him and helpless as to what to do. Anyone had any experiences like this coming off of omeprazole?

I can't comment on omeprazole as we didn't use it, but we had good success with ranitidine.
Defo worth asking your GP for that, DS had a 0.4ml dose of the adult formulation (I think it's calculated on weight?).

Otherwise, before bed, try warm baths and massage straight after with lots of bicycle legs to ease the bowels.
Hope that helps a little. Brew
