Toddlers tonsils photo inc

I was messing around with my 3 year old and took this photo. To me his tonsils don't look right. I have tried to have a look down his throat but he can't keep his tongue out the way for me to have a proper nose.

He had his flu vaccine on Wednesday as well as the dentists where everything looked fine. He's had a snotty nose and a cough but is fine in himself.

Would you be concerned?

Hopeful bump

if he's well in himself nothing to worry about.

They are certainly enlarged but this can be in response to or caused by a viral infection. If he is otherwise well, nothing to worry about

Thanks both! Do you know what the lighter bit is behind his ulvula? I just had another look and seemed pink and healthy but the centre back of his tongue looked frilly (best word to describe it!). Hopefully I'm being anxious over nothing.

My four year old has had an enlarged right tonsil for months, no one seems too fussed about it and I've asked two doctors.

That pale bit looks like his epiglottis.

Thanks so much all. The epiglottis explanation would probably be why the back of his tongue looked frilly when I looked down too. Mind now at rest Smile
