I have woken up this morning with the beginnings of a cold sore. Now and then it crops up when I get a bit rundown or stressed. So as Baby is 10 weeks old, I'd say the last couple months just catching up with me. Should I be concerned. We seeing public health nurse Friday anyway and I have the patches you put over the cold sore to kill it and keep it contained. Is there anything else to do?

Don’t kiss your baby. Don’t share any items with your baby that have touched your mouth. Wash your hands. Cold sores are really dangerous for babies. The NHS website has some good advice on this subject.

Use separate towels, do not touch your mouth and immediately wash your hands if you do accidentally. Do not kiss the baby, obviously. Sterilise everything that goes near your baby's mouth before they use it. Be scrupulous with hygiene.
