Vomiting Bug lasting over a week?

Hi all. Was wondering if anyone has any advice or have been in a similar scenario with their little ones.

My 19 mo daughter began vomiting on Sunday night (17th) as we took her out car seat. She then proceeds to vomit a further 2 times once in the house quite close together. She then went to bed and slept really well and seemed to have had a lucky escape come the Monday (18th)

She was sheepish on Monday but had no further vomiting episodes. She was the same into the Tuesday and lasted all day long then vomitted her dinner up whilst eating it poor thing and then also her little bottle before bed came up as well 2 hours later. She asked for more tea as soon as she had vomitted so I carried on with her tea. It was almost like a strong gag reflex?

She then woke up on Wednesday (19th) completely out of sorts and a funny colour. Not really interested in anything - loss of appetite. She has had no fever whatsoever. GP saw her and says classic vomiting bug and to expect it to finish over night? Didn’t happen.

Fastforward to now and she had been what I thought was back to her self eating bits of food (whatever she fancied - including a cake and crisps Blush) nearly almost back to her little lively self. 3 days no vomiting and then BAM through the night tonight she woke up 2am and brought up her tea and was really quite upset with this.

Does this sound like a typical vomiting bug? I must add she has also now had 3 messy nappies over the past 2 days. Not complete diahreea but certainly messy. The bug hasn’t followed the normal pattern of vomiting for 1-2 days followed by bad nappies if you see what I mean??? It’s all spaced out and lasting 6 days so far and she’s back to feeling rotten and uninterested.

Thank you all!

I have had a similar pattern with my kids-24hrs between violent vomiting. I would hope she’s coming to the end of it now but tummy will be super sensitive. Often lactose intolerant for a while after this sort of bug so I’d avoid dairy and stick with banana, white bread, rice, that type of thing. Beige carbs basically! Minimal fat. Small frequent meals also. A probiotic often helps too. Hope she’s better soon!

(Cooked dairy seems ok-mine were fine with porridge)

I've also had this with my ds twice, one when he was 3yrs old and once this year! Vomiting episodes days and days apart. It's definitely been bugs both times as far as I'm aware.

What I do now is when he's sick I have him on a strict plain diet for 48-72hrs after last vomit to prevent a relapse. plain pasta, toast, rich tea biscuits, Jacobs crackers, that type of stuff, nothing with sauce, nothing sweet or chocolate etc it helps keep their irritated tummy settled.
