My little boy is almost 7 months and has had a cough and mucus rattle for the last 3 months. GP has said it’s viral and chest is clear. They then felt it could be silent reflux and gave thickened milk which gave him awful diarrhoea so we came off that. He has no rashes, eczema etc. Everyone comments on what a nasty cough and how chesty gets sounds. It’s starting to affect feeding and weaning, he gags and vomits phlegm when trying to swallow. The cough and rattle is only when he is awake, when he is asleep he you cannot hear it at all. Any ideas? The cough hasn’t changed in 3 months so I feel it just can’t be viral and I don’t want this to affect his eating in the long term but he’s gaining weight so it’s not seen as an issue. Thank you 😊
