Seeing an ENT doctor

My DC is 20 months old and is seeing an ENT soon. He won't open his mouth on request, even teeth cleaning is a battle of songs, blowing raspberries on him and holding his hands out of the way just to get the brush in.
I'm guessing he's not going to open his mouth for the doctor to look, he doesn't like new people anyway, let alone looking in his mouth.
Has anyone been in this position or knows what to expect from the ent please?

We have been there - don't worry they are specialised in dealing with kids and will manage. I now will do practising with a doctors set (or torch from phone) which you could give a go but 20 months is still quite young for that to work.

You will hopefully be seeing an ENT specialist who has paediatric experience. They are fab. They do this every day, don’t worry.
