DD10 acne spots on face and back. What works?

Hi all just looking for some advice based in experience please

DD is 10 and puberty started a couple of years ago. She is tall for her age and in age 13 clothes and size 6 feet. She is also 'developing'

She has had some fairly minor acne for the last couple of years which is getting worse and now seems to be on her back too from her neck all the way down to mid back.

They are only small spots but there's a lot of them and they look the same as the ones in her face

She is also getting very bad blackheads on her chin.

Other than the promoting good hygiene, trying to not touch her face etc can anybody suggest what might help?

She is fairly resistant to lots of water on her face but is fine with baths and showers. She also spends half the week at her dads so won't always get the support/ pushing she needs to be consistent

What has worked for your kids?

IME the only thing that really helps, apart from professional medical intervention (which can come with side effects) is cutting out refined sugar. I'm not sure how you achieve that with a youngster though, although if you can, a huge difference will be seen within weeks.

I’m finding tea tree oil face wipes have improved DDs. Especially around the hairline.
I’m trying to persuade her to use them on her back too.

Yes we have tea tree wipes too but I don't think they particularly help

@LoyaltyBonus i haven't heard that before. I just assumed it was all part of the hormonal changes going on

I'm sure it is indie but sugar affects all of that (e.g my pms is much improved if I avoid sugar too).

The thing that has really helped dd1 and 2's skin is using the Roche Posay Effaclar system. (They use face wash once a day followed by cream and the cleanser once a day followed by cream) - it isn't cheap, but it seems to have really helped.
