Brain MRI results

Hi all, my child had an MRI today after a 2 week urgent referral and after it was done we were told that we would get results within 2-3 weeks. We received a letter for a follow up consultation before the MRI took place and that appointment is around a month from now. Seeing as it was an urgent referral, am I right to assume that if anything is wrong we will be told much earlier than 2-3 weeks?

If there is anything serious that needs immediate treatment, you’ll absolutely be called back within days.

My friends son had an MRI on a Saturday and was given a 2 week follow up time. They called her teo days later on the Monday to get him back to the hospital asap. If theres something they need to do, they'll do it quick

Ds had an MRI done last May. We were told the consultant couldn't see him until September, got a letter at the same time as the MRI appointment.
Then about a week later we got another letter saying owing to "circumstances beyond their control" it was being bought forward to end of June. I was a little worried.*
Apparently he has a perfect brain as he likes to tell his sisters

*I was quite fortunate as the day after he had a routine ENT appointment and I mentioned that he'd had this and I was worried about them bringing the appointment earlier. While I was out of the room, they phoned the consultant and when ds went back in after his hearing test she told me she'd spoken to the consultant, it was simply annual leave and there wasn't going to be any bad news.
Just if you do get a second letter it isn't necessarily bad.

My friend's daughter was called the following day when her MRI showed up a tumour.
