My son is 5 next sunday, and he got a black eye from being hit in the face with a plank of wood by a friend at school. This was just over 2 weeks ago. We called 111 as soon as we picked him up as his eye looked so bad and was very very swollen. We took him to A&E and the docs said that it's just a black eye and it should go down within 2-3 days (was very shocked they didnt want to x ray it). Anyway, fast forward to now the bruising and swelling has gone down but we can still feel a lump under his eye under the skin.
My question is, would you take him back to the doctors? Or would you just leave it? I've no experience in black eyes etc. Especially with children. Thanks x

Maybe worth getting opticians to check eye over make sure no damage to sight etc if they find anything concerning they’ll refer you straight away

I would go to optician and doctor

I had a black eye a while ago from opening a spring loaded wall unit on to the area just under the outside edge of my eyebrow. There was a lump there under the skin for months which is almost away now.
