Hand Foot & Mouth - return to nursery

My LO has been sent home from nursery with Hand foot and mouth. Nursery have said he can't return until all the blisters have scabbed over. However, he's had it before and from memory, the blister didn't scab over they just sort of faded. But I'm not sure if my recollection of last time is correct given the sleep deprived state I was living in at the time. Does anyone have any recent experience of hf&m?

Obviously I won't send him back whilst he's obviously under the weather but when he's back on good form I'm a bit concerned they won't take him if he still has spots.

This is NHS advice:

Staying off school or nursery

Keep your child off school or nursery while they're feeling unwell.

But as soon as they're feeling better, they can go back to school or nursery. There's no need to wait until all the blisters have healed.

Keeping your child off for longer is unlikely to stop the illness spreading.
