Is this a cold sore??

Hi, my 6 month old has been poorly the last couple of days with a nasty cough/cold. DP has just noticed this red mark on his lip. I can't work out if it's a scratch or if it is indeed a cold sore? It's not as noticeable without the flash on and doesn't seem to be bothering him which is making me think it might just be a scratch . If it is a cold sore is there anything I can do for him?

My ds has had these a few times as a baby/toddler. I have been concerned about coldsore almost every time but I think they are just spots from running nose dribbling down. I have always applied a bit of sudacrem or similar and they've cleared within the week.

It's just a little spot. A cold sore will very quickly turn from a red mark to a blister. I'm talking hours rather than days.
