6mth Baby Struggling To Poop

Sorry for the gross subject, but I'm not sure what to try and trying to get an appointment in my doctors for him is like getting blood from a stone.

So my baby boy is nearly 7 months old and has been on pureed food for about a month and he's really taken to it. But for the last couple of days he's been struggling to poop.

He really has to strain until he's red in the face and he cries when it comes out. When I change the nappy the poop is rather solid. Like dough. Sometimes he drops little pebbles. No blood.

I give him weak squash or water with his meals to try and soften but not seeing a difference.

Any tips while I try and get an appointment at the GPs?

What foods are you giving? Maybe avoid baby rice and bananas. Try prunes

Tummy massage, clockwise circles from right pelvic bone up under ribcage across and down to left pubic bone etc.

Lots to drink.

Do see the hp as you might beed a laxative to move out a backlog

@dementedpixie
A range of fruits and veg, occasionally yogurt and snacks - but banana is his favourite. I'll take you advice and give him a break from them. He doesn't have them everyday but still.

Warm bath often helped mine.
Also would agree to avoid bananas, always lead to constipation with my daughter.
Prunes and kiwifruit were best to get things moving.

Ella's kitchen prune pouch should help
