What’s this on my sons gum? Pics

When he said he could feel something sore and bubbly on his gum, I expected to see a gumboil/abscess. But instead it was 2 almost pimple-like blobs, quite close to each other. Can’t see any pus
What do we think

Can you post a photo of the adjacent tooth OP?

onemachine · 27/10/2019 19:34

Think he needs to see a dentist

slipperywhensparticus · 27/10/2019 19:36

Yes it looks like an abscess needs a dentist asap

SorbetK6 · 27/10/2019 19:36

I had this once I used to enjoy popping it turned out to be an abscess on the root and I had to have the tooth extracted.

Chugger · 27/10/2019 19:40

We’re on holiday at the moment. Not home until next Sunday.
I’ll keep an eye on it but it doesn’t seem to be bothering him too much...

I had this on a back tooth when I was a teenager quite frequently. Like someone else previously said, I enjoyed popping it 🤦🏽‍♀️ I eventually had to have root treatment on the tooth, then it got extracted ☹️

Letsbegin · 27/10/2019 19:45

Abscess but it's trying to drain so shouldn't cause much pain. Not sure how old he is but hot salt water gargling can help if old enough to stomach it!

SeaSidePebbles · 27/10/2019 19:47

You need to see a dentist, he’s got an abscess. That pimple thing is the puss trying to get out.

bloated1977 · 27/10/2019 19:52

It's an abscess on his tooth. Don't pop it. Let it drain itself. Now it's come to the surface hopefully it'll pop soon.

SorbetK6 · 27/10/2019 20:38

I used to pop it with a cotton bud. I had it for months, it wasn't painful.
You should probably as soon as possible though

SorbetK6 · 27/10/2019 20:38

Is it a baby tooth?

katielilly · 27/10/2019 21:24

Yes -it's a baby tooth.
Are you able to post a photo of the tooth OP?

Chugger · 27/10/2019 22:41

He’s asleep now. I’m not sure if it’s a baby tooth, I’ve lost count! I’m presuming it is though. He’s 7.
Well, it did pop earlier

Is he in pain? My middle child has just had a tooth yanked out due to an abcess

Chugger · 28/10/2019 08:53

No he’s not in pain. Hope your DC is ok
