Has anybody every had an experience with roseola virus on a 15month old? My son was diagnosed with it yesterday morning from the doctor and his rash is still coming out more hes literally covered head to toe in a rash just not his face yet. Hes very very wingy which isnt like him at all. Hes very tired but I've not noticed any temp yet, I just dont believe it's that because when I've looked roseola virus up it says the rash is normally belly chest and back but his is all over this body. ?

Roseola normally causes high temp for 2-3 days first without any symptoms before the rash appears so I'd be inclined not to accept the doctors diagnosis. It could be a viral rash? What are all the symptoms?

My friends doc diagnosed her toddler with chicken pox when it was clearly hfm as the only spots were on her hands, wrists, ankles and mouth which never crusted over, So they don't always get it right!

Well he hasn't had a temp at all, been very wingy in going to bed and threw the day. His full body is covered in a rash but also I've noticed this morning his bum is all blistered and his got little blisters in between his fingers and on the palms of his hands which could be hand foot and mouth but what's with the full body rash which hes had since Tuesday morning

He has the odd blister around his body to but the rash is all around them I'm so confused

Yeah that could def be hfm, is the body rash different looking to the little spots you've saw on bum and palms? Because the body rash could just be a non-specific viral rash caused by the hfm. Try to check in his mouth if you can.

Yeah the body rash is red pinprick dots and the others are more red and swollen with blisters. He wont let me see in his mouth

Is he eating and drinking normally?

Yeah I would say so, hes got more blisters now. Can you get hfm blisters on your bum?

One of mine had it with no temperature and just a rather dreadful looking rash. It definitely was though as she passed it on to her siblings.

Yes hfm is common in nappy area too!

Hiya so hes woke up this morning with two none blanching spots but hes still playing a little but his temp is slightly higher today than his normal temp

How is he now op? I'd be inclined to have the non blanching ones looked at. My ds had one once a very small rash on his thigh that only partly blanched, no temp but the out of hours doc still wanted to look at him, turned out it was petechiae from scratching an area of eczema but best to be sure. Don't worry about seeing the doc twice for the one illness, many times at that age I had to have repeat appointments for my ds, they don't mind if things have changed or developed.
