My son is 3 and he has been having problems since July. I have another thread on children's health about it but I'm unsure if this is related or not.

My son caught a mild case of chicken pox last week, he's been fine in himself however gradually over the last few days his stools have been getting paler until on Monday my partner said his stool was now a light cream colour. He has experienced this before due to a vomiting bug but he hasn't vomited or had any stomach problems this time.

In case it makes a difference my sons been having night sweats and disturbed nights, lack of appetite/weight loss for the past few months. He had a blood test which showed slightly high for a few things (vitamin b12, neutrophils, basophils, platelets) but the doctor suspects that was due to a cold he had at the time of the test. We are waiting to be referred back to the paediatrician but I'm not sure if I should go back to the gp about the pale stools or just wait it out to see if it is due to the chicken pox? It will probably be about a month until we see the paediatrician.

Sorry to hear your son is going through this.
Personally. I’d be giving the gp a call. If it’s worrying you, then it’s reason to. It’s not a normal stool colour. However my daughter has had similar (light clay colour), and after lots of tests, was deemed fine. Just ‘one of those things’.
I hope he gets better soon

@Flossie44 I imagine it is just one of those things. Was your daughters brought on by a bug/virus?

I've been waiting to see what the next poo is like but he hasn't been since. From what I can remember from last time they did return to normal within a few weeks.

No virus for my daughter. Was completely out of the blue. So odd. But like you said returned to normal. It’s happened a few times
