What’s this on 7 month DS’s face?

Is this anything to be worried about? The circular red mark. It seemed to start off as a bit of dry skin which seems to have been irritated after wiping food off his face with a baby wipe and feels dry to touch but not taised. His childminder has told me she thinks it could be bacterial with it being circular? Pic attached. Thanks

Could be fungal. I would take him to see the pharmacist

TreesSandSea · 21/10/2019 14:57

Ringworm?

Neome · 21/10/2019 14:59

Yes pharmacist or GP. My first reaction was ringworm but I'm just a mum not qualified.

Hi OP, my 7 month old has this exact same thing on his face in the same spot!

I have no idea what it is either. I thought it may be eczema so I've been creaming it but it's no better.

I think it may be ringworm as my daughter had something similar years ago on her leg.

I'm going to take him pharmacy to get some cream for it

Nousernameforme · 21/10/2019 15:00

Yup looks like ringworm it's a fungal thing not an actual worm.

Thegracefuloctopus · 21/10/2019 15:01

Yep that's ringworm. Pharmacist can't give anything until 1 Yr so docs it is

Moonshine160 · 21/10/2019 15:56

Thanks all, I’m going to take him to the pharmacy in a bit for their opinion and if need be phone the doctors first thing in the morning. I had put a little sudocrem on it earlier on (just in case it helped) and it’s now faded and doesn’t look circular anymore.

I would agree it looks like ringworm but can I also point out - what a cutie!
