Advice needed re: spots on tonsils.

My dd is 10. She has been a little hoarse the last couple of days. Today she developed a high temperature.
Her older sister used to suffer badly with tonsilitis which always presented as red, inflamed tonsils with white spots. I checked dds throat and there are a couple of spots, not white though, more like mouth ulcers and her tonsils aren't inflamed. She said her throat is starting to feel sore now.
Does this sound like tonsilitis?
Her temperature comes down with calpol so I plan on just keeping an eye on her for now.
Not sure if she needs to see a doctor. She has rarely ever been ill and doesn't complain so it's hard to know.

Sounds like tonsillitis. I get it a lot. I rarely go to the GP and it clears up fairly quickly by itself, but with a child I would at least call 111 for advice.

Thanks dippy. My older dd has other health issues and her tonsilitis usually required antibiotics. She gets really ill with it. Dd2 is so different. I don't think she needs a doctor at the moment but i always doubt myself because with dd1's health problems we would always play it safe.
