Ganglion on finger

Terribly exciting I know! DD has seen a GP and been told that’s what is causing the lump that’s making it really painful for her to write. They can refer us to a specialist but I gather removal isn’t easy and they’re likely to come back. Anyone got any suggestions? Pads to put on finger or pen when she’s writing? TIA.

If it's painful for her, I would push for removal to be honest.
My son had a bad one on his finger about 6 years ago and we had it removed as it was also on his writing hand and causing issues. It was a really quickly done (just the morning in hospital) and there there's been no reappearance.

She’s only started complaining this week. They are very likely to return and it’s right on a joint. The medical advice we have had is to try and manage the condition rather than risk surgery. If it continues to cause a problem then we will go back.

You may find it will just burst and disappear on it's own. That's what happened to the one ds2 had - it never reoccurred either. The doctor told us to wait and see and come back in a month if it was still a problem and it burst a few weeks later.
