Cold sores

I am a new mum and my little girl is only 16 days old. Yesterday I came out with a cold sore so naturally I have avoided kissing her (as hard as it isBlush) I am prone to cold sores but I am aware of the dangers newborns face if they are to be in contact with the virus. I am keeping it covered with patches but obviously I am still carrying the virus - has anyone else had a situation similar?

Hi OP I have suffered with cold sores in the past. With my DD I just made sure to wash my hands frequently, not kiss her and not use the same towels etc. DD is 18mo and has never caught one. It's scary when you see the damage it can do but if you follow all precautions you should be fine Smile
