Baby really hot

My 3 month old baby had a fever of 39.3 when she was 1 month old which turned out to be a uti, she never felt hot to touch before but that day I may as well have put my hand on an oven! Anyways ever since she had that fever she on and off just feels that hot to touch again, but now when I check her temperature (and I check everywhere to be sure) it’s always absolutely fine. Is it normal for her to feel really hot? I’m just paranoid something is wrong

It’s really stressful when small babies are poorly! One of mine had at uti at 3 weeks and I too remember how hot he was. Is she on antibiotics as a precaution? If she doesn’t actively have a fever at the moment she’s probably ok, but maybe check in with your gp tomorrow. One of mine always got a really hot head when he was tired/trying to sleep. Is it that?

It’s awful isn’t it! Yes she’s on antibiotics just in case but there also why I worry, because they messed up with the prescription twice and it’s still being sorted out. Maybe it could be that she’s tired, because she’s not always hot, I’ll start looking for a pattern to see when it happens.

Perhaps just check in with your gp - mine were always really good at dipping a urine sample just in case. Will they do a mcug scan at 6 months?
