To see a Dr -rash

I’m a FTM with an 18 day old. On Friday she got a rash on her forehead and I took her to the walk in where the Dr said it was heat rash and would go in a few days. We’ve been trying to make sure she isn’t too hot over the weekend but since then the spots have turned white. It doesn’t seem to be bothering her but not sure if I should take her to the Dr again?

Newborns do get all sorts of weird skin things and this does look like milia or milk spots, which are common and harmless. They do look quite large and a bit inflamed though, so I would get them checked out. Its always better to err on the side of caution with a newborn I think! Congratulations! 😁

I think this is baby acne, both of mine had it. Your HV might also be useful on this one. It cleared up on its own for my two!

See your HV today - it's probably nothing to worry about but I'd make an appointment sooner rather than later

Try kokoso coconut oil on it. My baby had baby acne and it made me so upset I couldn't stop crying for days but bathing in plain water and dabbing the kokoso On worked a treat.

I’d get that looked at again. It most likely is baby acne but personally, I’ve never seen baby acne spots that look quite like that or were that inflamed looking.

Is it just the forehead, not the cheeks as well?

On the plus side, if it is baby acne it will go away by itself in a couple of weeks.

I thought it might be acne from looking online. She has a few spots on her cheek as well. I’ve got an appointment for later this morning just didn’t want to be a paranoid FTM.
