Sickle Cell Trait

Hi my daughter had Sickle Cell Trait.
Her dad and her suffer some symptoms and have a lower immune system . Does anyone know where I can find anything that supports people with the trait suffering symptoms and lower immune system?
I am having real trouble with her school as she has sct, ibs, Tinitis and a garlic intolerance. She misses some school due to these and normal bugs but the school are not recognising this and I have been referred and in the process of being fined.
I am arguing this but they are asking for evidence I do not have and don’t know how to get. Whenever I search sct it sends me to pages for sc and I keep going round and round in circles.
My gp says the amount of time off is not inline for a normal healthy child. I’m sorry but she is not a normal healthy child. She has illnesses that effect her and having a lower immune system means she picks up bugs/viruses easier, I’m not sending her in when she has diarrhoea, vomiting and passing out. But they are expecting me too.
Sorry for long rant I am a single mum and under a lot of stress and I can’t handle all of this on top.
Xx

Sorry to hear you having a stressful time. I think there is an organisation that supports people with sickle cell anaemia so they might be offering info on having the trait too.

I’ll have a look, I’ll see if they have Facebook groups too maybe.
